Struggling getting a decent sim speed
#1
My specs are an

Processor - Intel® Core™ i7-2630Qm CPU @ 2.00GHz
RAM - 8 GB
Video Card - NVIDIA GEForce GT 555M

on a laptop and I get less then 60 FPS at all points in time with probably 1/3rd sim speed. Is this simply a compatibility issue or are there settings i haven't touched.

In order to help you further with your problem, please make sure the following are all provided.
  • The version of PCSX2 you are using.
  • Any non default settings you are using.
  • What games you are trying to play and if you are playing them from ISO or DVD.

Thank You.

Version 1.0

Only non defaults are multithreading and I upped the cycle speed on EE to 2

Game is FFXII

EDIT: There are some areas it was fine in but after a little big some of the areas just lag so terribly it became difficult to play. ANd it didn't have to do with the size of the areas or overall power of my CPU because it never went over 30%

Actually, it does have something to do with your cpu clockrate.
2.0 ghz is low for pcsx2
It never reaches more than 30% because it uses only 3 cores (with mtvu hack enabled)
Make sure to set your wdows power plan to performance mode
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
RAM : 16 Go
