Struggling to add cheats to P3FES (PCSX2 1.7+)

I've been attempting to just spawn a magic mirror for a while now to little/no avail. Tried PCSX2OTC, but could only get it to work for 1.6. Unfortunately reliant on savestates currently, so couldn't port my 1.7 save to 1.6 and back. Tried several Cheat Engine scripts, which all seemed to work fine for more powerful cheats like swapping party members, but not for what I need in just an item spawn. Tried pasting the pnach codes into the 1.7 cheat file, which said it worked, but nothing spawned in my item list, even after loading full saves, savestates, entering/exiting battles, and changing floors. Not really sure what I am doing wrong, to be honest.
This is the pnach I've been using, if it helps diagnose the issue.
