Suddenly slow after a reboot. Arch Linux
#11
Okay so the problem came back and seems to be intermittent as far as I can tell. I am trying to debug and one message keeps popping up. It is:

Code:
ZZogl-PG:  Dest alpha blending! Manipulate alpha here.

Edit: I get that message when it's running full speed too. So nevermind on that.

Hum.When you experience a slowdown
1/ try do a savestate, shutdown completely pcsx2. Restart your games
2/ If it does work. Do the same with a normal save point.

Tried a few times to test and it didn't seem to make a difference. There is some additional output though if it helps:

Okay I tried another game. Tested and did a virtual reboot in pcsx2 and tested again. Here is the complete output:

http://www.mediafire.com/?a16ft86coj068t5

(Had to upload to a file upload site because pastie was getting jammed up).

Also, I ran into a graphical glitch (brown square (there is another one where when a bag item drops it is just a bunch of garbled blocks (will post a screenshot of that too if you want))). Here is a screenshot:

http://postimage.org/image/npuo8jb8x/

The graphical glitch does not occur with the gsdx plugin. But the game is way slower when not using ZZogl-PG.

well you can take the hypothesis that gsdx SW is 100% accurate (or close) but it comes at the cost of speed. I will try to look at your log file but I m afraid that it will not help. It will require a cpu profiling to understand what is ggoing on. It could be an opengl stalling ,issue with lock on a thread or whatever. Zz debug is very verbose and it probably totally unrelated. I will need to find some time to merge the glsl branch and improve the debug capability like I already did on gsdx-ogl

Okay. I will stay posted. Please let me know when it gets merged (guess I will probably know when there is an update in svn) and I will be happy to test any new features and post any logs you wish for further testing and development of this project. Thank you for helping develop for gnu.

Hmm. I see a few new and experimental graphics plugins. Very cool. They seem pretty buggy still but I am very happy about this. Definitely a step in the right direction for GNU. Thanks.
