Suikoden III - Game slows down when using Rune in battle

Hi all,

I'm currently having problem with Suikoden III. I'm still at the beginning of the game (1 hour in), overall it runs just fine.

But in battle, the game slows down if I use the Rune command. The speed percentage drops down from 100% to around 60-70%.
This happens for a few moment, then the speed will go back normal to 100%.

My system is a laptop, is it not good enough for this game? Is there any way to lower the graphic to solve this slowdown problem?

I also included some screenshot of my config.

The ee% doesn't change when it's slow, it's the same the entire time 99-100%

For the gs%:
When the characters just stand there waiting for my command (before I enter any command to attack), the gs% is 30-50%
After I input any command (Attack or Rune, anything) and the battle animation starts, the gs% drops to 15-25%

means your CPU is struggling from the start.

- try latest GIT build
- make sure your power plan is set to performance mode and make sure you aren't running on batteries
