System Requirements for emulator
#1
I'm a complete newbie to using emulators. I tried installing pcsx2 and when I get to the part where it says to select
the bios, I can't find it in the folder. It shows pcsx2, but says there's nothing in it.

I checked my system specs and found out I have a Celeron j1900 with 1.99 gHz. I'm not too too familiar with the difference between processors, but I know the site recommends a Core 2 duo. Is the Celeron just not powerful enough to handle this? I just got this computer a couple years ago. Hasn't the pcsx2 been out longer than that? Shouldn't a newer system be up to task?

Also, my main goal with this is to be able to play the English language translation of Phantasy Star Generations. This is a fairly low end game so I don't think that would be a problem. But it seems like I can't even get the emulator installed in the first place with this system.

The minimum system requirements are a processor with single core performance of 1600 and recommended 2000+. Yours has only 500.

I'd recommend Sandy Bridge or above generations.
CPU: I7-4770 3.9GHZ
Motherboard: Asrock B85M - DGS
RAM: Hyper X Savage 2x8GB 1.6GHZ CL9
GPU: GTX1070 8GB GDDR5
OS: Windows 10 Pro 64bit

So it won't even install then? I just did an edit saying I wanted to play a pretty basic game tech requirements wise, but I guess I don't even have enough juice to install the emulator in the first place.

You can install it ofc. It's just that the cpu is very weak but go ahead you can try Smile
Also don't forget enabling speedhacks.

Like I said, I'm a newbie. I have no idea what a speed hack is. I think I've come to the conclusion it's just not going to work with my system.

you first will have to extract the bios from your PS2 console
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
RAM : 16 Go

Just because you computer is newer doesn't mean it is powerful. Also just cause you can play actual PC games doesn't mean it can emulate well. Like saying a Ford Escort is just as good as a Ford Mustang just cause it is a new car.
MOBO - GIGABYTE X570 AORUS MASTER
CPU - AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT
RAM - 32 Gigs DDR4
HDD - To many to note. NVEM, SSD and HDD
GPU - Nvidia GTX 1070
OS- Windows 10
