Tales of the Abyss cutscenes/skits too bright.

Windows 10 64-bit
Core i7-2600
EVGA GeForce GTX 1050Ti SC
HyperX FURY 16GB (8GBx2) 1600MHz DDR3

I'm playing Tales of the Abyss by following the settings in this thread and it runs fine with no problems, but the only issue is that now the cutscenes and skits are extremely bright because of the shade boost settings. But then when they are turned off the game is way to dark.

Using latest dev build.

That's a very old workaround that I posted there.

A few pages later in the topic I posted a newer GSdx version with the patch applied to it instead of the ancient GSdx that was originally used.

But in the 1.5.0 dev builds, halfpixel offset hack fixes it for a very large part already, so you can just use that as well. That way you won't have to run with high brightness and the skits/cutscenes will look fine.

How can I enable the halfpixel offset hack?

Edit: My bad, I finally found it on Advanced Settings and Hacks and didn't notice it at first. Looks like the cutscenes and skits look fine now. Thank you very much!

I have another question, Ryudo.

I noticed that you're the person that made this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JEhJinzTCNg) and wanted to ask about the widescreen hack.

I was also using this hack but noticed it was only stretching the game. I'd like to know if it's possible for the game to actually be in widescreen.

Your threads are never deleted, closed yes, deleted not really, but it gets buried by other posts. Also it is NOT polite to post/hijack someone elses thread.

It shouldn't be 'stretching' the image (aside from anime FMVs). You're sure it's loading the patch properly? (Does it say in the log that the Widescreen patch has been found and loaded?)

I followed the instructions from this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGqr767K5dA) though I'm not sure if it's of any use anymore since it's somewhat old and the image still looks stretched.

Edit: Just looked at the log and it says that no patches were loaded, but I have no idea why... Do I need to put the patch in a different folder?

Don't worry about it, I actually joined in on your thread before they closed it down. Might have been because of me why it was closed in the first place, so I'm sorry about that haha
