Timesplitters 2 not loading main menu
#1
Hey guys. I have been tinkering around with my emulator settings and every game ive tried seems to be working nearly flawlessly until i tried TS2. I have tried changing all sorts of settings to see what is causing it to no avail.

When i boot into the game from my iso it gets to the first screen where it says the title of the game and then a loading bar is supposed to show up and as soon as it finishes it should take me to the main menu. The loading bar does not show up at all though it just sits at the image. Ive tried googling and searching but i see nobody mentioning this issue. Thanks.

Added attachment for visual.

I believe the newest version.
1.1.0.5710
I am using some pretty standard HW hacks and stuff but i have tried disabling them all and it still works the same.

Try the latest stable version (1.0.0). The compatibility page has it listed as Playable since (u) .9.4 and (E) .9.8, so it *should* be playable.

What cheats are you using? also have you tried redumping the game?

Yeah i have actually played it previously and it worked flawlessly but that was proabably a year ago and several OS wipes earlier.
No cheats. I have tried two different dumps. Its highly strange because i see nobody else with this issue and all my other games work flawlessly. Is using the stable build reccomended over the latest? I always figured the latest would be the best.

^this. You should not always assume the latest is better that the stable necessarily. Many times the newest revs can break certain games.

Sorry to necro the thread, but I figured this would be worth mentioning to anyone who stumbles across this thread like I did. (Thanks, Google!)

The above link solved it for me. At the bottom it says "Game incompatible with MTVU, will refuse to reach the menu if enabled."

Go to "Config > Emulation Settings" and then navigate to "Speedhacks." Make sure that the "MTVU" checkbox is unchecked, Apply the changes, then reboot the game. Hope this helps!
