Title Screen Loop FF8

I bought a new laptop, one that doesnt have a cd drive. I am trying to play my copy of Final Fantasy 8. I have loaded all 4 cds into my server and used cdrdao to make backup copies (bin/cue format).  I have downloaded them to my laptop and I can boot pcsx2 to both bios and cd1. When I hit start for new game, it just loads the title sequence again and loops forever. what am I missing?

I used:


cdrdao read-cd --read-raw --read-subchan rw_raw --datafile FF8_CD1.bin --device /dev/sr0 --driver generic-mmc-raw FF8_CD1.cue

use a ps1 emulator instead.
pcsx2 has very limited compatibility when it comes to PS1 games
