I thought I had mentioned this already but how about 6 months? 8 months seems like a very large amount of time for someone to be allowed to necro a thread without being given a warning. I know this is not our decision, it is the staff's decision, but does anyone else want to weigh in on this?

Well, personally I don't like 8 months because it's a strange number. 6 make far more sense to me. However, since the tool is done and the rule is written, I doubt this issue will get more attention.

Bositman chose 8 for a reason (he said something about the average time between releases), and what's most important IMO is that we have a solid guideline now.
