Game title: Tony Hawk's American Wasteland (Collector's Edition)
Region: NTSC-U ELF name: SCUS 21295 Game CRC: 21278F5B Compatibility report: PC Specs: CPU: Intel Core i7 3770K @ 3.40Ghz GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 960 (4GB) Build Description: PCSX2 1.4.0 Release Pack - Windows If other please specify: N/A BIOS Used: USA v02.30(20/02/2008) Console --Video Plugin Settings (VERY important, as this removes the vertical lines!!)-- Adapter: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 Renderer: Direct3D11 (Hardware) Interlacing: Auto "Allow 8-bit textures" Unchecked Internal Resolution: Native Texture Filtering: Bilinear (PS2) Anisotropic Filtering: Off CRC Hack Level: Aggressive HW Hacks Enabled -HW Hacks Configuration- Skipdraw: 8 (<--------------------------THIS is what removes the vertical lines) All other settings under the HW Hacks Configuration remain either off, at 0 or unchecked, where applicable. Shader Configuration: Enabled FXAA. Left everything else alone. --EE/IOP Settings-- EmotionEngine: Recompiler IOP: Recompiler Round Mode: Nearest Clamping Mode: Extra + Preserve Sign --VU Settings-- VU0: microVU VU1: microVU -VU0/VU1 Advanced Recompiler Options- Round Mode: Nearest Clamping Mode: Extra + Preserve Sign --Speedhacks-- EE Cyclerate: 0 VU Cycle Stealing: 2 Other Hacks: -Enable INTC Spin Detection -Enable Wait Loop Detection -Enable fast CDVD (not sure if this is necessary, but I have it on regardless) MicroVU Hacks: -mVU Flag Hack Game Fixes Used: None Amount of testing done (little/medium/much/completed-game): Much - Semi-Complete. PLAYABLE. Comments: Tested with the various settings of emulation first, could find no resolution for the infamous "vertical bars". Then, under third-party recommendation, forced a hardware rendering on the video plugin and set the skipdraw to 8. Lines were removed, but the emulation was savagely bogged down. So after tweaking with emulation settings posted before, discovered that the round mode MUST be set to nearest, otherwise the game will crash at a massive null operation when it looks for textures and can't find any in-game. As well, the clamping mode is especially important because without it set to Extra + Preserve Sign the first load screen with the two faces will not load and will hang with another severe crash. After much frustration, and many force-quits of PCSX2, the only thing left to do was to go with speedhacks to make the game physically faster. After playing with the cycle settings, I found leaving the cyclerate at 0 and playing with the VU Cycle Stealing actually brought up the game's performance drastically, only sacrificing the sound quality on a margin. Bugs: Game looks and plays fairly smoothly, with the occasional hiccup every few minutes. When in pause menu or naming sequences, lighting occasionally flickers in background. Also, when exiting story mode, game hangs on a crash. However, game window itself is still able to close. Save states HIGHLY recommended. Otherwise playable, decent framerate, no huge graphical anomalies. Status: Playable, minimum performance hangups.

Did you try the "Align Sprite" HW Hack to fix the vertical lines?

the vertical lines are a depth thing, it will be fine in the OpenGL setting.
