Config > GS Settings > Internal Res > Set to whatever resolution you wish eg 1920x1080. Cool

I played Ratchet & Clank a just now, but I noticed that I only have 20 FPS while the EE was 70-80% and same for the GS.

Does anyone have a solution? I use presets (set of 4) but I still lag (and textures load slowly)

Thank you Smile

480p IS progressive, 480i is interlaced.

So you still can't achieve HD?

let me smartass. it's still not hd.

1080i is fake hd! it's basicly "540p" well interlaced per frame to make it look bigger without blocking - tho you get vertical lines off the interlace - which is the same BS quality. also notice that there's lines cut off on top and bottom of the screen. so it's more or less the same internal resolution of 480 lines. same as 480p.

there you go. Laugh

Incorrect, 1080i has much more spatial info than 540p (and especially, but not only, if you compare 1080i @60hz to 540p @30hz), especially in more static scenes. Because the lines on each field don't overlap spatially, so you DO get 1080 distinct lines per frame (2 fields), it's just that on each render (field) only half of them are rendered to the screen - the odd and even lines, alternately.

Interlacing started with the very first days of TV broadcast due to hardware limitations which don't exist today, but it does offer a very interesting take on analog video compression: draw alternating horizontal lines (thus cutting the bandwidth requirements in half, or allowing double the frame rate using the same BW). This gives higher resolution on static scenes, yet doesn't harm the image much on action scenes. Quite novel actually, and easy to handle on analog CRT screens, though relatively hard (to do well) on progressive-only displays.

why compare to 540@30? as i think it renders 480p@60 and interlacing it. means you get one frame on the odd lines and the last one on the even. that's how it does... i thought. Wink

the fake is the horizontal (or vertical?) resolution that is actually not there but "created" with the interlace.
