Ultimate Spiderman Issues

First time poster/PCSX2 user. I'm new to the scene. My longtime PS2 died recently, due to user error, and I was in the middle of playing Ultimate Spiderman when it went kaput. So I figured I'd give this program a shot to see if I can get it running on here. After reading the guide and configuring everything I tried to run the game, but unfortunately it isn't running well. I can view the main menu, and watch the first cut-scene, but as soon as I get to the Venom fight, its lag central, objects are missing, and the sound is incredibly distorted. Any ideas on how I can fix this? Your help is very appreciated. Also, my PC specs are as follows:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 @2.66Ghz
4Gb of Ram Installed
Windows 7 Professional 32-bit
Nvidia GeForce GTX 550Ti

your cpu is a bit weak for pcsx2.
what version of pcsx2 are you using ?
tried software mode with 2 extra threads ?

I'm running 1.0.0(r5350). And no, I haven't tried software mode with 2 extra threads yet. I'll try that right now.
