defender is terrible, it slows your pc down and it has an aweful detection rate

I personally use Bitdefender, it's pretty good at not false positiving, has good detection rates and doesn't really slow the machine down.

Defender was awful on 7, it is much cleaner on 10. It doesn't bog down anything for me To each their own though, whatever works for you is what you should use

I wanna kill Defender (Win10) on my laptop to be honest. But it results in annoying warning messages that I can't turn off.
