Using 4GB patch on pcsx2
#1
Hey guys. I'm currently using pcsx2 to play Star Wars Battlefront 1 and 2 and Lord of The Rings Two towers. I'm running at a pretty solid 60 fps with the 3 speedhack dials turned on full.

Specs:Name AMD A8-5500
Codename Trinity
Specification AMD A8-5500 APU with Radeon™ HD Graphics
So a quad core cpu @ 3.2 GHz
8GB DDR3 Ram @ DRAM frequency 687 MHz
Windows 64 bit 8.1
Graphics i think is integrated: AMD Radeon HD 7560D with 510 MB memory.

I know the Graphics isn't exactly the best but i can get the game sim playing atm on a solid 60 fps as i said before.

Now recently I came across the 4gb patch to enable the emulator to use upto 4gb ram. However im not sure which actual file im suipposed to be patching. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks Smile

I've also attached CPU-Z's analysis of my machine.

Basically need to patch PCSX2.exe and so far its only helpful with the snowblind engine games aka Chapmions and Baldurs Gate Dark Allience. Since they tend to spit out a lot of out of memory errors.

You can check your log for out-of-memory errors. If they are written you might consider the 4gb patch. But normally one doesn't need it.

Thanks for the replies. I see that it won't particularly make a difference to me. Smile
