Using Ps2 original discs
#1
Hi pals,

I'm new to PCSX2 so I wanted to ask you a couple of questions

I would like to use a ps2 original disc I'm particularly fond of, is it safe to do so? Can I run it using PCSX2 even at 2X or higher resolution (3X Native mode, for example), without the risk of causing any damage to the disk?

Thank you so much, you're great!

sure.
but you'd better make an iso from your disc to avoid stuttering from your DVD reader
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
RAM : 16 Go

Get an app called ImgBurn and make an ISO. It's way more reliable than using the disc Smile

It's safe, but I suggest creating an ISO file in order to prolong the lifespan of your optical drive and also for much quicker access times/loading. You can upscale without worry as long as your PC hardware can handle it. Consult the Compatibility List for your game for appropriate settings if performance is not satisfactory.
