Hi there!

Is there any fix in sight for this horrible bug in the lost forest? Makes the game almost unplayable...

I read about this issue countless times, and i wonder, few months ago the team add a lots of crc hacks from the Cutie build, but this hack never was applied. (on the cutie build it is possible to play on the Lost forest on hardware mode with out the texture issue)

It is because it cause issues in other games?, if that, it is not possible to add an on/off feature?
Also the cutie version have a few useful extra options, like skipTex/skiplayer that become helpful when you got some "unwanted/looking bad on hardware mode/not fixed yet but reported effect" and you just want to avoid them because the game looks better whit out it, or is not fixed yet and it makes uncomfortable the gameplay.
You can get some examples of this on the blur on kythena plains, on VP2 Silmeria which can be avoided with skiptex 1, or the blur around the players on captain Tsubasa, which can be avoided wit skip 3.
Yes i know it cause issues like the skip of some lightning effects when it is activate, but you can put it back to 0 and all become normal and don't affect the accuracy of the emulation (goal of most developers i think).
So i was wondering why don't add those features?, i mean the shade boost option was added, what make this ones different? Smile

thats because the cutie hack breaks too much to be worth it.

Right, that is was i was thinking, but maybe i express it wrong, the point of the question was, if the on/off switch is a possibility for this hack.

I mean that can bypass the situation of a new post every week asking about it on the forums, and the "i don't want to work with that" situation on the devs side Tongue until some one really have the motivation to work on that ( personal motivation/challenge are the reason that some of these things are solved most of the time ).

And about the Skyptex/layer options, they break things too?, how some that can be turned off can break something?, i mean if you put some values there deliberately you can broke something, but if you leave it alone there is no problem..... righ? Tongue

So.. no solution in sight, if I interpret that conversation correctly.

I know playing in software mode fixes that but makes the game slow like hell. Almost unplayable as with all the red squares in the screen.

I'm using 0.9.9 svn with cutie gsdx and it works fine for this game.. currently @ chapter 5 *the only one breaks the game is the speed hacks*<< there's no sound in fmv then it hangs lol
@ lost forest here's a video of mine

the fps is slow 'cause of the recording but no red glitches.. I just turbo mode in this area to reach 50+ fps

yah just separate the pcsx2 config to others by folders... so you don't have to use the cutie on other games
