how do I record from my emulator? I saw posts when I searched the forum but when I F12 nothing happens. Is there something else I need to download?

try Fraps or Camstudio or Hypercam to recorded on-screen and it's a software
or
buy a digital camera that has a video recording e.g. Canon PowerShot

FRAPS seems to slow down the emulator for me. I'm trying to record the cutscenes from MGS2 and the framerate takes a huge dive when I hit record. I have quite a powerful machine so I dont exactly know why this is happening. Any ideas?
