Not to mention it could be the failing file transfer system they for some reason retained from vista.... why is it transfering or unzipping brings my system to its knees every time...

I don't have this problem. I also play FF XII NTSC-U, I copied the disc image myself.
I am also on Windows 7. Operating System: Windows 7 RC 7100 Program: PCSX2 0.9.6 r1502 BIOS: USA v02.00(14/06/2004) Console Graphics: Nvidia 9800 GTX 512 MB Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 8400 @ 3.3 GHz RAM: OCZ 2 GB DDR2 @ 1000 MHz 1. Try remaking the ISO for FF XII (the first FF XII ISO I made was faulty, it wouldn't even properly load the 'new game' options to start a file 2. Please visit the following link if you would like to see my configurations for PCSX2 http://forums.e-mpire.com/showthread.php?t=92107

No problems here, with Windows 7 64-bit RC and FFXII Pal version. I'm 15 hours in with no issues, so it may or may not be Win7. Check the drivers etc.

I haven't run into any problems with the cutscenes in FF12 ntsc. I'm 60 hours in and running Win7 x64 (7600). Are you running an aggressive overclock? Because I only see the BSOD when I try and push my overclock too far.
