WRC Issues

I cannot make it work. I am a big fan of the WRC games on PS2 but they all have problems. WRC II is the worst while WRC3 has a graphical glitch when fog is present.

Please post the contents of the emulog.txt file after the problem occurs. The file can be found in "My Documents\PCSX2\logs" for the installer version or in "PCSX2\logs" for the portable/binary version.

The problem is actually minor, it's just the fog appears as a wall in vertical lines. I want to do a video series on it because I've loved this game for long, I still have the original copy bought in December 2003.

After that, please post your GSdx settings.

It's a good idea to do anyway, but it won't help much. You need to set the Skipdraw hardware hack to 1.

Would I need to download new plugins? I set up PCSX2 long ago and I do not even know if I could do it again, hahaha. I am quite the dumb idiot when it comes to PC-related stuff.

Would that help for WRC II, WRC3 or both? It is so strange how a game like MotoGp4 can play perfectly while some have minor glitches (the lines in Tokyo Xtreme Racer Drift 2) and others are immensely ***** (Lotus Challenge goes to 20% its normal speed in certain sections of some tracks with the FPS still at 50).

The v1.5.0 development builds are portable zip files. You can extract it anywhere you want, copy your BIOS from v1.4.0 and run it. It includes all default plugins. You don't need to remove 1.4.0. Most games will be better in v1.5.0, but there can be a few games that have less issues with 1.4.0.

It will work for both games. It isn't strange that games behave very differently because it's an emulator. It really depends on how a game is programmed. Some developers use very dirty tricks to get a desired result and those can be slow or difficult to emulate. It's also worth noting that the TXRD2 issue is related to upscaling, and the PS2 was never meant to use upscaling. Wink
