I haven't tried this, but try to run pcsx2 with cheat engine with "enable speed hack" option set at 1.2 or 2.0.

It does not work, because you need 100% fixed performance

If you get ~50Fps overclocking could help you getting close to full speed. I think these core2quads were nice overclockers (if you have sufficient cooling)

The Core 2 Quad Q8400 stock clock is at 2.66 GHz, and his is at 3.2, so I guess it is already overclocked, especially given that he is overclocking the GPU.

this would explain his good results despite having a low single threading rating.
