What are the laptop specs do i need to run 4048x4048 d3d internal resolution ?

4096x4096 is the limit actually and probably a card like hd 5870 or the new gtx 470&480 cause its also very game dependant. like metal gear solid 3 while i can run most games at x4 or x3 worst case i run mgs 3 at x2 at best. so this game probably wouldnt run at that resolution even with those cards (i am not sure cause i havent tested it Tongue )

and i am talking about pc desktops, in laptops there is no way you can...

Yep you need the most powerful card you can get and it will depend on the game (I can play that res on phantom brave fine apparently Tongue).

Why do you want to use that resolution?

That resolution is overkill XD No way you can do that with a laptop using PCSX2. A powerful Desktop maybe (not all games though) but laptop, seriously doubt it.

I just gave FFX a try on 4096x4096. Couldn't pull any more than ~20fps at the Main Menu. My specs are on my sig.

Only chance; you're looking at the type of laptop you need not question the specs of. Mainly because you bought the most exspensive one available, and OCed the $#!T out of it. Then, maybe...

The GSDX internal resolution setting stresses the GPU RAMDAC and memory. It doesn't noticably affect the CPU. Overclocking your CPU will have no effect on the performance of the GSDX internal resolution setting.

The laptop specs are core2duo 2.5 GHz. The GPU specs must have very high texture fillrate and memory, around 4GB , lol. sorry was just bluffing. almost impossible to run on that internal res. unless you have a very strong GPU. What I mean is desktop, I don't know for laptop. maybe it can but can't achieve full speed and it may burn your laptop.

as a general rule i say stick to your actual screen resolution as your maximum, for example a standard LCD is native at 1680x1050, so use that in GSDX, any more and you are just wasting processing power (as you wont see it), you can smooth it further by using the exprimental AA options in the newer gsdx's, but setting that too high will have an impact too, around x4 should be enough.

depending on the screen max resolution i think up to 2048x2048 +- you can see it being better. after that as you said some AA will finish the work for perfect results Wink
