What are the problems with Fatal Frame? Planning to buy them
#11
Fatal Frame 1 is already fully playable from what I know. The problems are fatal frame 2 and 3 wich can't play FMV (so they can't even go in-game unless using a previosly saved game on a memcard). Is there something we "common" users can do to help pcsx2 team determine the origin of this bugs? Supposing we have time to check on debugging logs and of course, know what to check for?

Please stop telling me fatal frame 1 is playable, I know that already. That is why I bought the game. Somehow it just refuse to work on my system. XP and Vista both doesn't work with r872 and r835.

Really appreciate if someone who has it running post the settings so that I can follow them exactly??

Actually it would be nice if there is a feature to import/export settings of PCSX2. This way, users can share their settings that work on certain games.

my specs is as shown in my signature. Except currently I am testing in XP but vista also giving same error.

Problems is when the game starts, I see blank screen with some quick white flicker. Lots of DMA trans error.

Settings is as in screenshots.

Well why don't you try playing with DirectX10 (Hardware) since your 3d card supports it. Also disable all speedhacks, just to see if the game runs. And change your CDVD plugin. Use gigaherz's or linuzISO. If nothing works, be sure your game has been ripped correctly.

abubin:
First of all disable ALL the speedhacks, what you're running isn't a ps2 anymore.. What a hackfest :/
Then fetch the newest beta of pcsx2, and try again.

same problem even with all the speedhacks turned off.

DX10 also giving same problem.

Same DMA trans error problem. Perhaps it's my copy of the game. I will try to check with another version.

EDIT:

I just tried using another copy of the game. Same DMA trans error in both DX9 and DX10. I think I give up. Maybe play other games first.

abubin you should be able to play perfectly fine Fatal Frame (1), so disable all speedhacks, turn all advanced options to "default" (there's a button for that), be sure to have your graphic plugin configured fine. You shouldn't have any problems at all, with version 0.9.6 (older than the betas) the game is fully playable...
