Kingdom Hearts 2
Dragon Quest VIII
FFX, XII
Star Ocean
Radiata Stories

It'll definitely need a new vga card to get any kind of gameplay out of it.
Then the cpu is slow, so out of your listed games only FFX and FF12 may run decently.

it's is highly possible you need to get a brand new modern PC i strongly use intel cpu than AMD.
Main PC1:i5-4670,HD7770(Active!)
Main PC2:i5-11600K,GTX1660Ti(Active!)
PCSX2 Discord server IGN:smartstrike
PCSX2 version uses:Custom compiled buildĀ 1.7.0 64-bit(to be update regularly)

Right, I just now saw that it has just 896MB of RAM as well. This machine must be old, isn't it? Tongue2
If you have the money and will to upgrade, go for an Intel + Nvidia machine, as tallbender suggested.
If not, then PS2 emulation won't be possible I'm afraid.

It's probably just Cool'n'Quiet that slowed down the cpu to 1GHz at the moment, generally Athlon X2 5200+ is 2.6 or 2.7GHz for am2 socket. Could be enough to play some games but graphics is definitely too weak. Change it for any mid-range model will be ok. For some change you could make this pc pretty fast. Sometimes Athlon II works even on am2 mainboards, add some ram to have 2gb and get normal graphics card.
AMD Phenom II 550 Black Edition @3.8GHz
4GB DDR2 1066MHz CL5-5-5-15
ASUS Radeon EAH4770 Formula 512MB DDR5

I also recommend a complete new PC...Intel is not really necessary, only if you have more money. An AM3 combo is absolutely fine too and much cheaper.
Intel i5 3450
AsRock B75-Pro3-M
Sapphire R9 290 Tri-X OC
8GB DDR3-1333 RAM
Sandisk Ultra Plus 256GB
Seagate 7200.14 1TB x2
Enermax Triathlor 450W PSU

It's the same price as a faster Intel based machine. Always been this way.
You DO get more cores for your money with AMD though, so if you need that..

The most expensive AMD Dual-Core (Phenom II X2 555 BE 2x3,2GHz) is better than the cheapest Intel Dual Core (Pentium G6950) and costs roughly the same (around 100$). The Phenom II outperforms the G6950 in both PC games and applications with standard clock. Both are nice overclockers as well and the Phenom even has an open multiplier. Since I think that the OP has a very low budget, if any, to upgrade, I'd even recommend an Athlon II. No current Intel CPU matches the price/performance of an Athlon II.

Yeah, what a lousy conclusion from toms hardware there Tongue2

If you check out the benchmarks, Intels offering beats AMD's in every one of them, often by far.
You could argue now that it didn't survive the overclock, and thus is rules out, but:

Who in their right mind runs a 32nm CPU at 1.475 volts and expects that to be fine.. ?

Drawing the conclusion that AMD's offering is therefore better is really bad journalism from Tom's imo.

Edit:
Just to make that clear. You're recommending the CPU that runs hotter, slower and is more expensive.
And yep, one can back that all up using a price watch site and that same article you linked to Wink
