What gfxcard should I buy?
#1
...Is it possible to get 100% frames on this system of mine?

Current specs:
Vista HomePrem. 32-bit
Core 2 Duo @2.60GHz
3GB RAM (not sure what kind)

I'm looking to buy a graphics card in September-ish. If possible, what card would I need to run PCSX2 well? I'm thinking about a GeForce 9800 or GTS - that's about what I expect my budget to be, I'm a cheap ass whore and all.

Currently running on integrated (oh god kill me now). I had PCSX2 running on it at about... 10FPS or so, in the BIOS at least. I believe I also got Front Mission 4 and Persona 3 to boot and play OPs but didn't get much further than that.

What are you looking to spend? And I'm assuming Nvidia makes your integrated chip, correct? If so, what model is it

anything NOT GS (gts is best) should do fine. I have an 8600GT 512 with a 2.2 dual core and it's running ok

I am also looking for 1 with spec's similar to his.. 100$ is max.

Specs:

ACER Aspire M1100
Windows Vista 32-Bit
2GB Ram
AMD Athlon X2 Dual Core Processor BE-2350 2.10GHz
Radeon X1200 Series Integrated chip-set I guess...

But is there any guarantee and will run 100% once I get a new video card? If not then I might as well just but a hole new PS2... Mine broke Sad Need anymore info let me know.. I tryed with the set up I got now pop the game in.. Opening stuff works okay.. but then I get to the main menu and it slows way down.. Game play is slow as well...

you're better off getting another PS2 most likely. depends on what you play. rpgs are fine, but stuff like need for speed, or wrestling games won't play fast at all. (9fps on wwe svr09 here)

(god of war is 60 for me, gow2 is about 50)

Yeah, you probably would need a better CPU also which for $100 you couldnt get a much better CPU AND GPU, but you could get a PS2 itself. If you still decide to upgrade your PC though, worry about your GPU over the processor, it will help more with pcsx. Since you have integrated radeon graphics, I'd recommend buying a radeon chip also if you upgrade, most of the time better results with your chipset

possible, but lousy results with any emu. (drivers suck)

You would be fine with less than this but AMD is so cheap these days anyways you might as well have a little breathing room for years to come.

With a video card an 8800gt would probably be okay, but the 9800gtx is very affordable now, and you could get one for just over $100 (with a rebate)

EDIT: I can't really suggest any ATI cards as I don't use one myself. Same goes for Intel CPU's.

I think that the hd4770 is best deal in ati you can get for that cash, it can overclock a lot to a performance between 4850 and 4870, its cheaper and cooler than 4850 and uses less power something like less 30w.

Well, it is when comparing 8800GT/GTS.
But the GTS250's isn't as good as the 260GTX.

So, I'd say, get a 260GTX

Overclocked, it performs still under the 4850...
AMD Phenom II 940 @ 3.6GHZ, 4GB PC8500 @ 1100MHZ, 4870x2 @ Stock.
