What is a bio? I select run from cd/dvd and it says it cannot find the filename bio.

this is your PS2's OS (like windows on a PC) You need to dump it from your own PS2 using this method : http://forums.pcsx2.net/thread-2329.html

So, if I do it wrong, my ps2 will break. I'm not taking any chances.

The only way you can break your PS2 while trying to dump the bios it is if you accidentally fall on top of it, or smash it with a hammer or something. There is no risk to your PS2 from dumping your bios.

The only other way it could break it is if you tried using the mod-chip method and you're bad at soldering. I wouldn't ever risk using a mod chip anyways in my system... Too easy to do something wrong, or to get badly translated instructions from china, or solder the wrong wire to the wrong prong of the chip. That said there are many alternatives to the chip method so...
