Hardware rendering will always be prefered when compatible, so I'm sure people would still bother with it. Especially if in some cases software is slower...

Hardware rendering is compatible with almost every game software rendering is, it's the little graphic errors that bother me like missing or corrupt shadows or textures and fmv's that happen in almost every game with the hardware renderer, that's why I always prefer software renderer. And if I had a PS2, I wouldn't be using this emu, duh!
