Wheel Support (some force as P2)
#1
Hello,

First off I'd like to say thanks for built-in wheel support in the latest builds, no more third party plugins. It's really amazing and well done, including full Force Feedback support!

I've had great (no issue/complaint) experiences with Gran Turismo 3, WRC Rally Evolved, and NASCAR Dirt To Daytona (requires 270 degrees in wheel software, other games are fine at 900 degrees)

NHRA Countdown to Championship (2007) works... but doesn't let you calibrate the steering axis, had to add little deadzone in emulator config so I could go straight... also FFB is crazy strong (no way to adjust, just my wheel software)

But my primarily primary issue is with Ratbag's two PS2 games, World of Outlaws Sprint Cars 2002 and Saturday Night Speedway.  Both of them detect the wheel, however it is detecting them as Player 2 (even though set as USB device one... and even if I disable the first player controller entirely).  Because of this I can't navigate the menus, and can't use the wheel in single player modes... which kinda breaks the reason to use it.

Any ideas for these issues, please let me know.  Thanks!

This is fascinating, the issue you describe here is the exact same as the issue I had with Total Immersion Racing, and I made a video about it 11 months ago apparently: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eeyo_lKHAmc

I tried literally every permutation of different wheel configs and settings, and nothing alleviated the problem. Seems to be an old bug, one that never got fixed in the old plugins. I doubt it makes any difference, but I use a Thrustmaster T300 RS.

Very interesting. My only thought... and haven't tested yet... how about setting it as the 2nd usb device, instead of first?  Think the devs switched which port is which?  Otherwise yeah, few and far between for games with this issue, but interesting to hear there was another.

Yeah, I tried setting the USB device in the second slot, and it didn't help sadly. I tried disabling/unplugging my Dual Shock 4 at the time (which I now no longer use due to button drift, that's right, not stick drift, but button drift, a defective dpad hah), plugging it in the other port, just lots of insane things in general -- the issue persisted. I just chalked it up to an issue with the plugin itself since from what I recall hearing its author actually stopped work on it ages ago, which is why some games didn't work well with it.

I'll try to see if there's any footage of anyone else successfully using a wheel on the emu with this game, but if I do find one it'd probably be an older version of the plugin itself. If not, and the plugin isn't the issue, then that would imply somewhere along the way something else in the emu has a conflict with the plugin or hardware and that could be a lot trickier to diagnose.
