I get those errors too. They don't hurt anything.

I think this is why it does that:

"Important! For Windows users! You need cg.dll and cgGL.dll files from Nvidia CG-Toolkit!. This files should be put in pcsx2 main directory."

Which is from: http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-ZZogl-Zer...OSMOS-fork

I think if your dx is outdated you also dont know 'dxdiag'. (Probably most users never used 'Run' in their life.)

Actually it is surprising that this error happens that often. Normally dx is updated every time you install a new game, or? At least if it is a new game your DX should be updated. And there are not many changes in DX in the last years, or?

I don't know of a command prompt way of getting the version, I've used the updater and see if there's an update.

After updating to 7, I have not seen any updates (or at least, not as often as on XP with DX9). Given this, I have only seen games install .net or some other MS redistribution stuff for some reason (Steam mainly and they say why, though I can't recall, I think they can't package it in the game to prevent it or something).
