And when playing resident evil veronica, why does it slow down (quite often) even though I have core i7, HD 4850 and 6gb ram?

I don't think it's natively possible. However, using fraps should do it.

Dunno about RE code Veronica as I don't own that game.

Try browsing the screenshots thread. Maybe you'll find optimal settings for your game.
