Which games have highest GPU requirement?

No, but it's a good place to start. I didn't build this rig with emulation as a goal particularly, just that it's something really cool to be able to do. I've been playing around with PCSX2 for years and it's really cool that I can finally emulate things that are largely 3d. Whereas with an Athlon 64 3700+ and radeon x850xt I could just barely get away with emulating predominantly 2d stuff like Ar tonelico lol.

Hey man, I see you have a videocard similar to mine (710m 64bit), and I want to ask you, do you have the following oddities as I have:
1) I have better performance with GSdx DX9 than with GSdx DX11. I think maybe it's because the videocard is weak or because of the 64 bit bus, but who knows, maybe the drivers are the culprit. Your videocard's performance should be almost the same as mine, that's why I'm asking you.

2) Sometimes in some games I have a freeze or a lag, it looks like as if the game is swaping itself on the hard drive (though it's definitely not a swapping - I have 4 GB of RAM). It's brief, but results in a chopping sound and a framerate drop, and happens during the action - when I run for a prolonged time or fight (DMC3 for example). Here the problem may lie either in videocard or in hard drive which works at 5400rpm's. But I highly doubt that it's the hard drive: I keep it defragmented, and PS2 games don't require that high bandwidth (of the HDD) anyway.

As for games that push GPU's to the limit - GTA Vice City Stories is definitely one of them. I've read that only the top end GPU's could run this game at resolutions beyond 2x scaling. I have to play this game only in native resolution. Gran Turismo 3 with it's night and wet night tracks also kills GPU's, especially the wet night track.

1. I had never checked it out so I just did. With star ocean 3 they both got 96 FPS in the same scene. In FFXII IZJS DX11 was faster by about 20 fps(80fps vs 60fps)

2.Yeah it happens to me in burnout 3. I'm not sure what causes it. I'm loading ISO off the same HDD that was in my PS2 that I used for openps2loader and it was plenty fast enough for that. In fact I even ripped my Xenosaga disc to a class 6 microSD card because I am seriously hurting for space, and it ran fine off of it.

I wound up with a radeon 7870 2gb which I got for 159. It came stock @1000 core and 1200 mem, I oc'd it to 1337, 1337, 1.337 v

Seriously. It's actually stable at 1375 but the voltage max setting is 1337 and I just wanted it to be triple leet.

That's kinda high for current gen GPUs. I'd suggest you lower that voltage and live with slightly less max overclock.
That is if you value your hardware Smile

The stock is 1.230 and the "1.337" max is considered the "safe" over volt. By that I mean as long as you don't go over that it doesn't even invalidate the warranty. I could use other apps or a bios mod to go higher than that, but there is no need.

On stock voltage I can hit 1150 core, and can't increase mem at all. At 1.337 I can hit well 1337. With my custom fan curve even after 12 hours of furmark it never went over 62C.

I'm pretty confident in it. Of course there is some risk, but it's a risk I'm willing to take hehe.
