Just buy a pc and a cheap laptop for school. Don't game too much also or you'll be like most gamers in school "dropouts".

The CPU of the first laptop is good, but with that weak integrated GPU you can only stick with native resolution.
Both the CPU and GPU of the second laptop is GREAT.

I can tell you that I have a pretty decent gaming laptop and a good desktop.
At class in college if the course is boring I tend to get into small flash, 100 mb games, tekken etc (so no intensive games) and I am not paying attention anyway. So you can take any kind of laptop you want, it's kind of the same thing when it comes to school.

you can get a good dell inspiron or an asus laptop. these are good for gaming. just make sure it has high ram and a good dedicated graphics card with high ram
u can also use hp pavilion dv6 or dv7 laptops for gaming, but these models have a heating problem so u need to cool machine as u game

that actually might be worth the 200 extra dollars just because it would probably last me a couple years longer before it is outdated

Dell Are terrible laptops/desktops so refuse from buying them. You pay way more for what you get. Buy indeed an Asus or Acer for that matter.
