My problem is that there are white outlines on some characters in kof XI.
as you can see in this pic, Kula has white outlines while Kyo does not:

Switch the renderer to software mode in graphics configuration. Alternatively, press F9 while the emulator is running to change the renderer to software.

Already tried that.
The backgrounds looked a bit better at least.

Alternatively, you could disable the interpolation in the game's option menu. Sprite style 6, I think it was...
