Why do some games emulate superbly while others run so slow...?

Kingdom Hearts 1&2 will be fine, n ot so sure on the other ones, possibly Klonoa 2 will be okay, I either know the others are slow or don't have experience with them.

007 might run ok, though bond sense is broke in hardware. It might be fixed in opengl, but that'll be slow on your card.

Crash Nitro Kart (runs perfectly & looks great)
Fatal Frame II (runs perfectly & looks great)
Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness (runs fine)
Jak & Daxter (crashes before PS2 logo)
Jak2 (runs fine in native with jagged visuals)
GTA: Vice City (kind of slow. Okay visuals. Choppy music.)
Devil May Cry (kind of slow. okay visuals. Some graphic glitches.
Spider-Man: The Movie (looks good, but really slow)
FFX (runs perfectly & looks great)
FFX-2 (glitchy visuals, slow sound, slow during FMV's)
Crash Bandicoot & Wrath of Cortex (runs perfectly & looks great)
Star Wars Starfighter (looks and sounds fine/ but really slow)

An A6 CPU is not state of the art anymore, neither is your graphics card.
So I'd say FFX/X-2/FFXII/KH1/KH2 are fine and should run fullspeed most of the time.

There are some games on pcsx2 where even high end i7 processors struggle with.
code is simply not optimized enough for these games, sometimes its the game itself and they even lag on the real PS2.
Shadow of the Colossos for example uses frameskip on the PS2 while it requires VU cycle stealing Speedhack on pcsx2 in order to work.

This game hates custom resolution while using DX9/11

This game runs only properly in software mode for me.
in hardware, no matter if dx9/11 or opengl it has shadow issues and the characters eyes are messed up.

I can verify as long as you keep Dmc at native you should be fine or 2x if you want to live dangerously
Windows 10
Intel 5930k 4.2ghz/core
32 GBs of 2400MHz DDR4
AMD PoweColor 390X (GPUs are expensive or this would be in crossfire)
