Why is PCSX2 slow?
#1
Hello everyone, I was just wondering why almost everygame is so slow on my pc, for example 007 Everything or Nothing, MGS 2 Substance and God of War 1

SPECS:
CPU AMD A8-5600K 3,8 GHz
GPU Nvidia Gtx 960 2gb
RAM 8gb ddr3
OS: Windows 10 Pro 64 bit

What can I do in order to fix these problems?
Also, my mayor thought is that when i look on the web for the settings for each game, i see people claiming 50-60 fps with old Intel Core Duo or Radeon 5450

PCSX2 requires high single threaded performance from your cpu and your cpu don't even reach the recommended minimum for 3D games(1600)

With an i5 6600K and 16 gb of Ram should I solve the problem?

Your CPU is about as good as an old Intel Core Duo(as far as PCSX2 is concerned). 007 and MGS2 can be quite demanding, as GOW is quite CPU demanding too as I heard. You can check how demanding a game is for PCSX2 at the top of the window(high EE levels point to your CPU as the limite, GS for GPU).
Then play with the speedhacks in Config - Emulation Settings (speedhacks tab). Make sure you use the MTVU speedhack, it gets more out of your CPU(but can have issues, like with MGS2 I believe).

An i5 6600K should do very nicely, you don't need to upgrade your memory for PCSX2(faster memory might be more useful than more GB's).

Definitely...it's almost twice better and it's in my i7 4771 stp category and MGS 2 Substance and God of War 1 work even way above full speed here
