i've been wondering this. theres all these neat features which are supposed to be speedups but every SVN i try i get slowdowns and i need even more speedhacks to get the games up to full speed over the current stable version of 0.9.8.
im wondering if its just because 0.9.9 revisions are not "stable" yet or its because im running 64bit version of Windows 7 and all the beta versions of 0.9.9 are 32bit versions....
any help ?

Latest revisions haven't affected speed at all (only increased it with the addition of the MTVU speed hack) so you are probably comparing 0.9.8 to the latest 0.9.9 SVN. It has been 324 revisions since the 0.9.8 release so it could be lots of different things...

Speedup/slowdown depends on the game, after the new gif unit rewrite I got a 15% speedup in god of war compared to 0.9.8, gran turismo 4 also 10% speedup and dragon ball Z budokai 3 5% speedup just for some for examples, some other games got a slowdown instead but taking in count MTVU current SVN is just much much faster. Also not every speedup/slowdown is due to PCSX2, some games got slower due to GSdx fixes like soul calibur III, some others got big speedups too but taking in count you can use different plugin versions/revisions with current PCSX2 you shouldn't factor those in.
So anyways to answer "Why is every SVN version of 0.9.9 a slowdown for me?", well maybe cause you got all the games that got slowdowns instead of speedups

As Shadow Lady said: Try using an older GSdx.dll (from the 0.9.8 release maybe).

I can confirm that. GT4 is MUCH faster compared to older PCSX2 versions.
