Why this emulator is so authoritarian?

Why it forces me to have the lastest gpu driver otherwise it refuses to work with vulkan?

i need to use an old driver because the amd crap are so buggy that the anti aliasing option in the radeon software doesn't work with the new drivers...

Because 400 series is 8 years old and PCSX2 vulkan implementation uses recent vulkan api which may or may not be supported by an 7-8 year old cards. For the record vulkan 1.2 was released in 2020 and 1.3 (which is used by pcsx) in 2022, so unless your manufacturer updated drivers for your gpu since 2022... you're out of luck for vulkan.

There's no need to blame pcsx here. You're saying "AMD drivers are bad, which means pcsx is bad" which is an odd stance to take.
