Widescreen Patch does nothing

I started playing Project zero (SLES 50821 22E91837) today and i wanted to use the 16:9 patch but it doesn't change anything. I tried putting the PNACH file into the cheats_ws folder and even tried putting it in the regular cheats folder (of course turning the options on in PCSX2) the console says it loaded 11 patches but still no difference.  To not bloat this post i uploaded the program log to a different website:

"G:\Games\Sony\PS2 Games\Project Zero (Europe) (En,Fr,De,Es,It).iso" sounds like a pirate downloaded ISO.
That's probably why things don't work.

I actually own an original physical copy of the game but its too hard to reach for me (Don't ask how exactly)

as you can see it merely stretches the whole image.

I changed the aspect ratio going to general settings under GS window

Looks like it's in widescreen to me, it doesn't look stretched.
