Will I be able to run this game
#1
Today I was playing the very beginning of Ratchet and clank and was getting around 70-80fps with the only the recommended speedhacks like mtvu. So I was wondering if I were to use the EE cyclerate hack could I expect to maintain atleast 40fps throughout the entire game.

My specs are as follows:

I5 4440
MSI GTX 650
8gb 1600mhz ddr3 RAM
win8 64 bit

I thought the ratchet and clank games had horrible texture corruption except in software?

You should probably be okay in hardware. Your processor benches about the same as mine on passmark(little slower though). You might not stay full speed in software.

I don't mind the lack of MIP maping which happens to be the cause of messed up textures. Every so often I play burnout 2 on an amd e-300 at arout 13fps and a 200*200 resolution and it isn't that bad.

So THAT'S why it does that. I wondered.

200x200? Wow. You're making the guys who can only run on native feel good! But if you're happy that's all that matters.

One of the main reasons that even 200*200 doesn't bug me is because I can still play the game because of the amazing developers.

Burnout. Is Awesome.

I own 3 and revenge on the PS2, Legends on the PSP, and Paradise on the PC. My favorite is 3.

And to the devs, WAAAY back when I had an Athlon 64 3700+ and an x850xt my PS2 laser lens died. Well I was playing Ar tonelico: Melody of Elemia at the time. Had a Free Mcboot'd PS2, got my save off and brought it in to PCSX2. (That's why and when I wrote the "How to import/export saves in PCSX2 using the mymc tool" which has over 250k views.) With speedhacks set to max(Only real speed hack at the time was ee cycle) I could JUST hit playable speed. And I played it to completion.

Now my PS2 is dead again mostly. It won't read DEV1(HDD), won't read discs. It still has a freemcboot card though, so I got all my saves again and off I went.

Nice, A few days ago I actually read your thread on exporting and importing saves a couple days ago and it was pretty helpful actually. About your Athlon 64 3700+ I still have a dell with an Athlon 64 x2 4400+.

I used that machine until about 2 years ago. then I had an HP touchsmart given to me that lasted a few months. Then I was without for a while. Then our neighbor asked me to fix her PC. "Make it burn CDs again" she said. Well, her CDVD drive was borked beyond repair, I told her a new one would cost about $20. She said nope, just trash the whole thing. I said that I would just keep it then. I upgraded whatever processor it had in it to an Athlon X2 4850e and the onboard Geforce whatever crap graphics(scored a 4 on the passmark test LOL) with a Geforce GT 610. That was my PC for some months until it broke in May. From then til September I had no PC. In september I bought the mobo, cpu, ram and case for my current setup. Used an old hard drive and that GT 610 with it. This month I bought my current graphics card, a better power supply, a 1TB drive. And thus my build is complete. It will have to last many years.

My good old Athlon 64 3700+ I borked it pretty much from the get go overclocking too aggressively. The entire time I had it, it would only POST if you smacked it first. I am dead serious. I have a degree in CIS and so did my roommate. He bet me once he could fix it. He tried for an hour and I walked over and smacked it. Single beep and off it goes. That smacking was eventually it's demise though.

Not the CPU, the side of the case.

Normally it booted and issued a code that I looked up in the mobo manual. Non specific hardware failure is what it meant. I tried many many many hours many times to figure it out but nope. Just needed to have the smack down put on it.
