Win 7 64 pcsx2 9.7 immediate crash
#1
I m using a custom built desktop with an intel q5550 2.83 quad, gtx 460, 4 gig ram, windows 7 service pack 1, dx updated, gfx drivers updated.

I can get 9.6 to work without issues (beyond the expected) on games like killzone and others that are on the supported list. 9.7 does not work, a black screen for a second then the windows message "pcsx2-r3878.exe has stopped working, with the exact same games that i was able to run with 9.6. The plugins are the same as the working 9.6 and I've set it to run at native resolution and running in windowed mode.

Does it just hate my system? I'm using the real discs for all the games. Also using the bios that works for my 9.6.

PCSX2 settings? plugin settings? Any kind of error in the console log window? content of emulog.txt after the crash?

I also had this problem, when i turned on All the Speedhacks, and my Gsdx version was different(older one for playing some older games)
I disabled my speedhacks and slected the latest one and it ran perfectly!

I have this same problem. I am trying to load FFX-2 (actual DVD in comp) and the program does not seem to want to start. I get a black window and then "pcsx2-r3878.exe has stopped working."
All of my settings are set at the recommended settings as per the guide.

You are absolutely right! Now it is saying "File not found.
Path: IsoFileSystem
(pxActionEvent) IsoFS could not find the root directory on the ISO image.(thread:EE Core)"

Now I'll search through the forums for THAT problem.

Thank you for helping!

hes using the discs, not an iso, and his plugin is probably set to linuz ISO CDVD plugin, instead of the cdvdGigaherz plugin for running the game off the disc in the disc drive.
