Win 8 x64, Intel Core i5 3570K, HD 4000 IGP, DirectX 11 (D3D11) = CRASH
#1
Hi all,
I'm experiencing some difficulties with my new system:

* Windows 8 x64 RTM fully updated
* Gigabyte GA-Z77M-D3H with F15 BIOS ( http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product...x?pid=4142 )
* Intel Core i5 3570K ("Ivy Bridge")
* HD 4000 IGP (512 MB reserved from system RAM)
* Latest Intel video driver (15.28.8.64.2875 (9.17.10.2875) from http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_D...ldID=22082 )
* Latest DirectX 9.0c (from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/...px?id=8109 )

I can run PCSX2 1.0 just fine with Direct3D9, but as soon as I try Direct3D11, the emulator crashes.

I'm on "1 - Safest" emulator preset.

This is my event log:

I don't know if it's related somehow, but I'm forced to use DirectSound because XAudio 2 give a "Failed to init xAudio2 Engine" + crash error.

Thanks!

i wouldnt bother with DX11 man. you dont even got a dedicated graphics card. and im pretty sure intel hd still doesnt support dx11 properly yet.

Thanks guys,
I installed DirectX 9.0c once again (from a redist package, this time) and now I've both XAudio and D3D11 working.

With 2x upscaling, 3 - Balaced preset and 3rd core option enabled, I get "ok" results. There is some major slowdown when there are many object on the screen, but globally is "acceptable" for occasional use.

One problem I detected though is that I need some "dark magic" to have GoW 2 reach the "load game" screen (no problem if I start a new game): Windows reports that the driver has crashed and was restarted, and the emulation seems frozen... but if I close the emulation window and then hit Resume, I can proceed.

that sounds like a GPU driver crash. i only ever seen it happen when i had either

A: a bad install

or

B: Bad overclock.

i think yours is the first.

try reinstalling the intel driver or lower your upscaling to like 1.5x

pretty sure the integrated graphics chip from intel can't do much for upscaling.
