I don't see how Aero could impact performance with a 295GTX... it's hardly resource intensive except on low-end cards and cards that are over 4 years old. Probably the DirectX updates then? =S

Not everyone has the same system, disabling aero does help some people others not at all... makes me remember on Vista I had to change my "Processor Scheduling" setting to Background Services or else I wouldnt be able to run PCSX2 on fullscreen without a performance hit.

after looking at this thread, i had a major wtf moment...
without having to go around disabling aero etc, with a sensible config, pcsx2 runs 'like a leopard' on my brother's i7 920 with 6GB RAM and 2x radeon HD36XX (i forget the actual model numbers, but well it's his comp not mine) running windows 7 and without any kind of overclocking
and btw shy_009, your cpu can support SSE 4.1 and 4.2, so you should update your GSDX... and maybe take the time to learn a bit about your computer and probably computers in general before experimenting anymore

You're not alone, I could feel my IQ slipping as I read the OP's posts
And, running
that hardware in XP is just plain retarded, What idiot would buy all that nice hardware then
cripple it with a 8-year-old OS

1) UPDATE your directx
2) Use DX10
3) Use SSE4.1
4) 3.3Ghz and "the best pc in the whole world", please.. there are tons of builds and games here that will slow down your system a-lot... this is an emulator, not a "pc game". Rules are very different.
Oh I almost forgot... update your emulator and plugins too, we don't even know your version. Oh... you finally got it running then =P
