Windows 7 Update
#21
I upgraded windows 7 from windwows XP and now I'm having a good time playing games here it's like playing on a PS2 with the graphics and also a big speed up it's a certain OS to go for. Unfortunately, I can only use 1gig because the dust came from my computer needs to be cleaned first.
Overall. It works great.

you are looking at 1-2 fps more in some games with the 1st drivers that came out for win 7. the latest drivers should for sure add some speed more. those first drivers are very old and the first that came out for win 7. now things have gotten very better. so by looking at the results of an OS that has a sp2 and 2 years of drivers updates and at an OS that is brand new and just 1 driver seeing those results is very good. when vista came out the performance was ALLOT worse than xp. you are looking to a very good OS opposed to vista.
OS: Win 7 Ultimate x64 sp1, MoBo: Asus P5QD Turbo, CPU: Q6600 @ 3,0Ghz, RAM: Trancend 2x2gb 6-6-6-18 800 MHz, GPU: HD 4850 1gb.

I doubt that. I've done cross benchmarks on vista and 7 and don't notice much difference if any. Haven't done any benchmarks recently so I think I'll benchmark on windows 7 now again.

to do that you must do it almost like they do them using fresh install and installing only the drivers. with each os stored in different hdd with the same pc and options etc.... i will wait for the results Smile

here's what i got so far, oh and fresh install wouldn't be fair to vista because vanilla vista sucks.

I did a quick benchmark w/ Opera in win7 in peacekeeper and I got 6616. I think vista will score lower in this benchmark.

u can put the sp2 and directx 11 update from windows update... but it must be fresh install for both the OS with only the required drivers installed. also you must bench other staff except pc mark...

Vista got 5317 in Peacekeeper so Win7 wins this browser benchmark by far.
