Windows XP support v3

No they definitively don't, put even aside that 8 drops altogether every card without WDDM.

Said this, yes I wasn't recommending to stick to XP (unless OP was willing to patch some code, and he could recover his Tesla gpu).
Windows Thin PC also exists if one is really tight on memory and whatnot - and to be honest, I still haven't found a single old application that couldn't be made to work with newer windows.

I just wanted to point out that as someone who also still uses Windows XP, the "security risk" issue is highly innacurate.

Windows XP users are minority, which means crackers won't target Windows XP. Just like any modern installers, viruses just wont't even get installed on Windows XP, and even if it does, it won't do anything since Windows XP won't even be able to communicate with the virus due to lack of resources in modern language programming.

For the past 8 years I don't keep any antivirus, and I never got a virus. And I visit pretty much all kind of sites, even porn.

So yeah, unless you're the president and then using Windows XP, you're not at risk at all.

But if you want to go modern gaming and watching 4k stuff, that's another story.

Do you really want to compare a whole company to a private user?

That's why I joked about being a president, you need to be relevant so then you'll be at risk.

the wannacry flaw has been exploited all around the world by broadcasting a script.
thus hitting private users and companies.
Of course, since many private users werent' using xp anymore, companies are the ones who got mostly harmed.
But private users got ransomed too (even if that's probably not what those hackers were expecting...)

I think the argument that Windows XP is still safe to use and that there is no good reason to upgrade is one of the dumbest arguments I've ever heard. And no matter how much you try to explain common sense logic to these people, they just get defensive and act like children, ignoring facts and logic. I liked XP...20 years ago
Windows 11 64 bit OS
Intel Core i7-10700
Geforce RTX 2060 6GB

If you read my message again I said that if you want to do CPU intensive things, that's another story.

Now, for the facts, the fact is that I use Windows XP for over a decade and that for the past 8 years I don't even use antivirus and never got viruses. I even use Tor on XP. So the only reasons I can think of for someone to manage to get virus on it is by downloading some 10 years old infected file, being dumb to open all of your e-mail links or if you're personally targeted by someone.

@envisaged0ne I find funny when you say people gets defensive for not changing OS. Like, what if someone root for a football team that sucks, I tell him "hey change team! Your team sucks! This one is a lot better!" even with facts, would you change team? Should I get mad at you for not rooting for another team? It's my computer, it should be enough.

If you don't have an antivirus, so how do you know there is no malware/spyware in your system?
Even if your system didn't get any virus yet, there's a question. If I go and stand in middle of a highway, and no car hit me, does it mean that is a safe place? Luckiness won't remain forever...

If the team members have played since 2000, it is more like a museum than a team...

Of course, and it's our forum as well, and we decided not to support fossils.

What doesn't affect me, doesn't hurt me, what happens to other people don't matter because it doesn't affect me.
It's a wrong mentality anyway, being called for BS arguments. If you would've said i love XP to death then we wouldn't go this far and anyway it's not supported by anyone anymore with lots of proof, you denying or not caring does not mean you are correct. If people want to use them, that's fine but don't force that on me.
