I don't know if this helps, but if you go to the XQuartz home page you can download a more recent version of X11 that isn't yet offered by Apple.

Im trying to opt for doing it on bootcamp, saves me the disaster of me bricking my mac or something, im prone to the impossible screw ups happening.

I opted for Bootcamp too, and I'm a happy customer. Pcsx2 on Windows is much better!
