XII Stag hangs at start screen!?

Maybe somebody could help: The game "XII Stag" loads normally, the start screen is displayed but as soon as I press start I see the "how to play" screen and the message "press start to skip" - as soon as I press "start" the game freezes.

Is there a solution for this?

Game works fine under zzogl, use this video plugin when playing this game.

I hope this will be fixed as it's complicated for me to switch to another plugin as I'm using pcsx2 on a real arcade cab with a frontend - and as there are no hotkeys for changing the plugin I can not do anything under normal use...
