I tried my BT dongle but it's not yet supported according to the .inf.
Manually adding it (but not changing the .cat) gave me a different error code on install.
Could you add the ID for me? Tongue2

@Scarlet, sorry for my inaccuracy

I meant it works well with Xinput1_3.dll in game folder(like Far cry3...)
So the native Xinput does not works for me Glare
Does this support vibration?

unvaluablespace : hmm, there may be a firmware difference between DS3s that requires some extra setup. My DS3s and SixAxis controllers are relatively old. Did you buy yours recently?

@rama : updated inf/cat attached with your hardware ID.

@mintos5 : can you check in Device Manager that System Devices -> Scp Virtual Bus Driver is active. The only thing that I can think of that would stop the driver from creating the X360 Controllers is the following
1. Permissions (Did you run the installer as Administrator?)
2. Outdated Inbox/WHQL drivers (download and install the Xbox 360 Accessories [post #127 for link] and enable Search Windows Update for drivers)

@Jman12311 : yes

Yes I did actually. About 3-4 months ago. It came in that new blue packaging Sony has been doing for their playstation products lately.
Joined to say thank you. So much better than Motion in Joy. Throwing my old Sixaxis in my laptop bag now.

Been playing with Prototype 4 and so far, flawless in games that are looking for a 360 controller (SW: Force Unleashed, A.R.E.S, Rusty Hearts) via USB.

Yesterday, I decided to play with the service, instead of opening the monitor. Service wouldn't start. I opened up the service and noticed it's Log In setting was manually set for Local Service. Setting it to Local System Account allowed it to run beautifully. Running 8 x64 Pro if it helps. Could be the issue w/ mintos5 because if he isn't opening the monitor and the service isn't starting, then it won't emulate a 360 controller, just shows as a PS3 controller

Low priority note, I'd like to test two bluetooth adapters and provide feed back.

tsusai, what did you do exactly to enable the system service? i too have windows 8 x64. I have tried numerous times to get it to install as a service, but to no avail. I checked the "configure service" box as well when i installed, but i cant find it anywhere in service, and have to run "scpserver.exe" manually to get it to recognize my controller. Smile

EDIT: Nevermind, figured it out, thanks to you. I swear i spent a whole hour trying to find it in services yesterday lol.

for those who are using this and don't know, if its not automatically started, its the "SCP DS3 Service" under services. Right click it, choose properties, and go to the "log on" tab. there is the option to change the setting from local service, to local system account. Smile thanks, tsusai!

I apologize if I'm breaking any rules by posting this. This is how I got the service to work after selecting it for installation. Note that I'm using USB direct at this time, not Bluetooth.

Scarlett,

I got curious after your last comment to me about the controller being so new. I have some old broken ps3 controllers that i keep on hand for parts, and they still work good enough to power on and such. Anyways, I plugged them all into my pc, and with your program, all 3 I had connected both via usb, and once I unplugged them, bluetooth! this is so awesome! I Can't believe how you single handedly made something so frustrating, so easy to get running! they even all paired at the same time, with the lights on the controllers properly lit to let me know which was which controller. Laugh you have no idea how awesome you are! haha.

Now for the bad news. I guess you are right about my new controller. Sad the only actual working controller I have doesn't connect properly via bluetooth. bummer. Is there anything we can do to get it working for compatibility? I gaurantee it IS a sony branded model. bought it from a retail store, at retail price, with sony branding. knockoffs are usually easy to spot lol.

What was best about this, was thanks to Tsusai's tip on enabling the service, all the controllers that paired via bluetooth, did so even after I restarted my computer, and it was so seemless, it was as if it was naturally compatible with windows, lol.

Anyways, if it helps you any, I thought I would point out that with the newer controller not pairing, I noticed that what happens is upon unplugging, my pc makes the "device found" sound again, to let me know it found the controller via bluetooth. in devices and printers on my control panel, the playstation 3 controller icon disappears upon unplugging via usb, and the xbox 360 controller icon pops up. I can click on it and go into controller settings, but in that window none of the buttons respond. Also, while the controllers that paired properly lit there respective lights, the led lights on my newer ps3 controller all kept flashing as if still trying to pair, and never fully established connection.

Hope you can help me get my controller working. I want to buy another one as well for two player games when I have friends over. so im guessing finding an older ps3 controller model won't be easy here lol. if there is anything I can do to help, please let me know. Smile
