Xbox Series X/S now backward compatible with the PS2, ish.

There are videos being shared of the Xbox Series X playing PS2 games, it claims that it is doing that via RetroArch. (I never heard of this emulator before)

Is this affiliated with PCSX2 in anyway? Last i heard it was the only PS2 emulator out there.

I think not. Wiki says "RetroArch" uses "Play!" emulator for PS2 games. But I could be wrong.

yep. there's a retroarch pcsx2 core.
but it's a fork, fully complying to GNU/GPL, but not maintained by original pcsx2 team at all.
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X

Do you have any idea what do they mean by the 2GB limit, is it the game size? The RAM? It’s quite ambiguous

It's a limit on the file size it can read but there is a workaround that allows you to use RetroArch while in retail mode so the file size isn't a problem. While in dev mode, you can only use ISO's that are below 4gb.

Modern Vintage Gamer didn't discuss that part due to possible legal issues. He only covered the emulation and performance.

Retroarch is just a front end. The videos are showing how they configured retroarch to work with the pcsx2 emulator. It's still very buggy and has a lot of work to do before you can play most games on the XBox systems
Windows 11 64 bit OS
Intel Core i7-10700
Geforce RTX 2060 6GB
32 GB DDR4 RAM
