Xenosaga Episode I Text Issue

The game seems to run mostly fine at native resolution on my setup, with small slowdowns here and there, but nothing significant.

However, when I got the first tutorial battle, the tutorial text wouldn't appear, only showing blank boxes which I was still able to click through.
Does anyone know how I might resolve this issue?
Sorry if this question has been asked before, I couldn't find a fix for it anywhere.

For reference if it's needed, I'm playing on a machine with i5-8250U, Intel UHD 620 graphics and 8GB DDR4 RAM, and using the 1.4.0 version of PCSX2.

First try to update to the latest version which you can get at: https://buildbot.orphis.net/pcsx2/

Also please post your emulog.txt here while using [.code][./code] without the periods.

According to the emulog, you're still using 1.4.0. Did you try the latest dev build as StriFe suggested?

I've downloaded 1.5.0 but haven't tested whether it solves the issue yet, and yeah that log is from before I made this thread.

EDIT: Tested it just now and all seems to be fine, so there must have just been a problem with the old version. Thanks for letting me know about the newer version.
