Xenosaga ep 1 saving problem

Well then besides the 1st saving point and the only one that worked every other saving point moves to the screen when theres no disc in ps2 with the mem card save list and ps2 config. Save states work but id like to save normally too =/ So anyone had same problem ? or knows a way to fix it . Its kinda weird that 1st save point worked and all other dont .. when i press button to enter saving screen the screen suddenly jumps and moves to the mam card list ...
