Yakuza FMV sound problem
#1
Hello everyone,

I started using PCX2 today for Yakuza and I'm having some issues with the FMV's. When they're playing I get this choppy sound that sounds buggy, and the videos all juddery (not like the juddery you get from not have interlacing on).
When i'm playing the game, the sound is ok, it's just when some FMV is playing, like the SEGA logo in the beginning for exemple.
I'm using SPU2-x R5830 as audio plugin, and the version of the emulator is 1.2.1.

Thanks in advance!

Are you using any special (Config ->) Emulation Settings, or are using one of the Presets? And do you have any cheats or widescreen patches activated?
Also please post your Config->Video (GS)->Plugin Settings and Config->Audio (SPU2)->Plugin Settings.

Not using any cheats or patches, just some hacks to accelerate, but i tried to disable them with no success into the audio issue.

I had this exact same issue on my desktop. The game ran fine with gameplay and in-game cutscenes, but FMV cutscenes ran slow and choppy and had no sound. The subtitles still ran, but they were out of sync with the video. I think the subtitles were running normally while the video was slowed down by whatever the problem was.

I tried changing several settings: graphics settings, graphics plugins, sound settings, etc. to no avail. I did manage to get it working when I tried it on a whim on my laptop, but I have no idea why. I was using the same settings I'd already tried on my desktop. I guess maybe there's either a hardware issue or some hardware/OS settings I'm not thinking of? I don't know.

My desktop's specs are:
    CPU: Intel i7-4790K
    Mobo: Asrock Z97 Extreme6
    GPU: Nividia GeForce GTX 970
    RAM: 32GB

Laptop:
    CPU: Intel i3-5015U
Mobo: No idea, it's a Dell Inspiron
    GPU: Intel HD Graphics 5500
    RAM: 8GB
